Informa Personal Training
There are so many contrasting and conflicting views on achieving a better body that they can leave you feeling disillusioned and lacking motivation. The problem with glossy magazine articles and the like is that they do not focus on the individual. We are not created equally. People look at overweight individuals and judge them. They assume that they sit around, do little exercise and eat rubbish all day long. In some cases this may be the case; however in the vast majority the situation is brought about by other factors - namely, sluggish metabolism and a set, genetic body type. The key to safe, permanent weight loss is taking on board these factors and making lifestyle changes to challenge the situation.

If your goal is to gain hard, lean muscle whilst reducing body mass then you may be even more confused. You need to eat more calories to gain muscle, but eat fewer calories to lose fat? How is that possible? The answer again is metabolism and body type. Different individuals respond to different training programs. The typical “wiry” bloke who has been coming to the gym, pumping iron for years and put on no muscle, and the big lad with enormous arms but an equally enormous gut, are both commonplace in every gym in town. People respond to different levels of weight training and cardio-vascular exercise.

This is where the Personal Trainer comes in. We begin by introducing the individual to exercise at a suitable level before progressing to a point where maximum, safe and permanent weight loss (or weight gain) can be achieved. It may feel daunting at first, and yes it is difficult to adjust to a new program and a gym environment, however the weight will come off and you will feel much better. Eventually you will look forward to every session and love the feeling you are left with for the rest of the day. There are many fad diets out there which promise the earth but leave you feeling hungry and miserable. The good news is that you don’t have to starve to lose weight. We can look at diet together to come up with a solution for your needs.
